Electrician for Data Centres and Server Rooms in London
Every hour a data centre is offline has a direct cost. Most business owners and facilities managers know that number precisely. What they cannot always see coming is which electrical failure is going to trigger it — or whether the contractor who last worked on their infrastructure truly understood what they were dealing with.
Over the last 30 years we have kept dozens of data centres active and safe. We would do the same for you.
Call us on 020 8455 9020 today or complete this form and we aim to respond within the same business day.
The UK data centre market is one of the fastest growing sectors in construction right now, projected to expand significantly over the coming decade as AI, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure demand accelerates. London sits at the centre of that growth. Which means the demand for qualified, experienced data centre electricians has never been higher, and the cost of working with the wrong one has never been greater.
Does this Sound Familiar?
Most clients who contact us for the first time are dealing with one of these situations. If yours is on the list, you are in the right place.
If you run a server room or small data room:
- The electrics in your server room keep tripping and nobody can explain why
- You are adding more servers and need more power capacity before you run out
- Your UPS keeps cutting out and you want someone who actually understands why
- You are moving office and need a server room wired properly from day one
- You failed an IT or compliance audit and the electrical installation was flagged
- Your previous electrician did the job but you are not confident it was done correctly
If you manage a data centre or critical facility:
- Your current electrical contractor does not have genuine experience in live critical environments
- A planned maintenance window is approaching and the electrical scope has not been properly resourced
- An unplanned fault has taken infrastructure offline and your contractor cannot respond quickly enough
- Electrical infrastructure has not been tested or certified and a compliance audit is coming
- A previous installation has left documentation gaps or uncertified work that nobody can account for
- Power infrastructure is struggling to keep pace with increasing load demands as the facility grows
- You need a contractor who produces method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work documentation without being chased
Our Data Centre and Server Room Electrical Services
We work on everything from a single server room in a small London office to multi-megawatt data hall fit-outs. The approach is the same regardless of size: proper planning, clean installation, full certification, and no surprises.
Server Room Electrical Installations
If you have a server room that needs wiring, upgrading, or sorting out, this is the work we do every week. We install dedicated circuits for server racks, UPS units, and cooling equipment. We make sure the power is right for what you are running — and what you plan to run next.
- Dedicated power circuits for server racks and network equipment
- UPS installation and commissioning
- Power distribution units (PDUs) and sub-boards
- Circuit upgrades when existing capacity is not enough
- Full certification and sign-off on completion
HV and LV Power Distribution
We design, install, and maintain high and low voltage distribution systems built for the continuous, high-density power demands of modern data centres.
- HV and LV transformer installations and switchgear
- Busbar trunking and power distribution units (PDUs)
- Main LV switchboards and sub-distribution boards
- Automatic transfer switches (ATS) and static transfer switches (STS)
UPS Systems and Battery Infrastructure
A UPS that has not been properly commissioned or regularly maintained is not a safety net. It is a liability waiting to be called upon at the worst possible moment.
- Single and three-phase UPS systems across all major manufacturers
- Battery string installations including VRLA and lithium-ion systems
- UPS bypass panels and maintenance bypass switches
- Remote monitoring and battery management systems
Generator Connections and Standby Power
A generator that has never been properly load tested under real conditions offers false reassurance. We connect and integrate standby generator systems and verify they will actually perform when called upon.
- Generator set connections and changeover panels
- Load bank testing and full commissioning
- Fuel system electrical connections
- Paralleling switchgear for N+1 and 2N configurations
Power Cabling and Cable Management
Poorly planned cabling infrastructure causes problems that are slow to diagnose and expensive to fix. We install clean, compliant, properly documented cabling from day one.
- Cable ladders, basket tray, and conduit containment systems
- High-capacity power cables for server racks and cooling units
- Overhead and underfloor cable routes
- Fully segregated power and data pathways in line with BS 7671
Critical Cooling Electrical Connections
Cooling failures and power failures are often the same failure with a different starting point. We carry out all electrical installations for critical cooling infrastructure.
- CRAC and CRAH unit electrical connections
- Precision cooling and in-row cooling systems
- Cooling tower and chiller plant connections
- BMS integration and controls wiring
New Build and Data Hall Fit-Out
From shell and core through to a fully operational data hall, we manage the complete electrical fit-out for new build and refurbishment projects across London. We work alongside M&E consultants, principal contractors, and project managers and we flag problems early rather than late.
Fixed Wire Testing and Compliance
Uncertified or out-of-date electrical testing in a data centre is a liability no insurance policy fully covers.
- Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) for data centre environments
- Thermal imaging surveys for switchgear and distribution boards
- Emergency lighting testing and certification
- BS 7671 18th Edition compliance verification

The London Data Centre Market: Why Specialist Electrical Expertise Matters More Than Ever
London is currently one of the most active data centre construction markets in the world. With the growth of AI, cloud services, and digital infrastructure, the demand for purpose-built and upgraded data centre facilities across the capital is accelerating year on year.
For businesses of every size, from a small office server room to a multi-megawatt facility, the electrical contractor you choose is not a commodity decision. Getting it wrong affects uptime, compliance, insurance, and the reputation of everyone responsible for the facility.
We have invested in developing the skills, accreditations, and site discipline that critical environments demand. That investment is why clients with no tolerance for error choose to work with us.
We Cover All of London
We work across every London borough, from Central London data centres in the City to properties in East London, South London, and out to the M25 corridor. Wherever your property is, we can be there.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you work in a live data centre without causing downtime?
Yes. Working in live critical environments without disrupting operations is central to what we do. We plan all work in detail before mobilising, agree scope and timing with your facilities team, schedule any disruptive elements within agreed maintenance windows, and use permit-to-work systems throughout. We do not start work we cannot complete within the agreed window.
Do you work on small server rooms as well as large data centres?
Yes. A significant part of our work is smaller server rooms and data rooms in commercial offices and SME premises across London. Whether you have a single rack or a full data hall, the standard of work and certification is the same.
My server room keeps tripping the electrics — can you help?
Yes. This is one of the most common calls we receive. It usually comes down to insufficient circuit capacity, an overloaded distribution board, or a fault in the existing installation. We will diagnose the problem properly rather than just reset and hope. If there is an underlying issue we will find it and fix it.
Are you NIC EIC approved?
Yes. We are a NIC EIC approved contractor with over 30 years of trading history. All electrical installation work is fully tested and certificated.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency call-out for London data centres?
Yes. We offer 24/7 emergency call-out across Greater London. For clients with ongoing critical power requirements we can set up priority response agreements so you are not starting from scratch in an emergency.
What documentation do you provide?
All jobs include full electrical installation certificates and test results. We also provide method statements and risk assessments as standard. For new installations we provide as-installed drawings and O&M documentation at handover. We do not leave sites without the paperwork complete.
Can you carry out UPS maintenance as well as installation?
Yes. We install, commission, and maintain UPS systems and carry out battery testing, battery replacement programmes, and ongoing planned maintenance for data centre operators across London.
Do you work on both new build and existing data centre facilities?
Yes. We work across new build fit-outs, refurbishments, and upgrades to existing operational facilities. Whether you are fitting out a new data hall or upgrading the electrical infrastructure in a live environment, the approach is the same: proper planning, clear communication, and execution that does not create problems downstream.
What areas of London do you cover?
We cover every London borough and the M25 corridor including the City of London, Canary Wharf, Docklands, East London, West London, North London, South London, and all the major commercial and industrial zones where data centre facilities are concentrated.
