Barbican Estate: Electrics and Pump Upgrade
DB Site Services successfully completed a major Barbican Estate electrics upgrade to the fountain pump system at the Barbican Estate in London. Consequently, this ensured reliable operation for one of the city’s most recognisable water features. Additionally, the project involved a full electrical and control panel solution. As a result, it modernised the ageing equipment, improved efficiency, and secured long-term performance.
Control Panel Design & Build
We designed, built, and installed bespoke control panels for the Barbican Estate fountains project. These panels were tailored to manage the estate’s pumps and water systems. They include premium components such as Siemens controllers, industry-safe motor control contactors, Hager distribution panels, and Schneider panel boards, This ensures reliable, safe, and efficient operation.
To enhance performance, we used advanced techniques like thermal imaging for non-invasive fault detection. The result was a fully compliant and durable solution, delivered for this iconic London landmark.
Electrical Testing and Certification
We carried out thorough testing and certification of the entire system. This ensured full compliance with UK electrical regulations. Every component was checked for safety, efficiency, and reliability. As a result, estate management had complete peace of mind.
Our rigorous quality assurance process also guarantees that the system runs at optimal performance. This reduces downtime and lowers the risk of faults or safety issues. In addition, we provide detailed documentation and transparent reporting, allowing facilities teams to monitor performance with confidence. Regular inspections, aligned with HSE electrical safety guidance, also help extend equipment lifespan, improve energy efficiency, and support long-term cost savings for our clients.
